St. Mary’s University (SMU), established in 1998, has consistently emphasized research and knowledge transfer among its fundamental pillars. Among the five annual research events organized by SMU, the Multi-Disciplinary Seminar (MDS) stands out for its role in fostering innovation and promoting a culture of knowledge sharing among academicians, researchers, and practitioners across various disciplines.

Initiated in 2008, the MDS has been held annually for the past 15 years in a row. This seminar provides a platform for researchers and practitioners from diverse fields within higher education to share their findings. The event aims to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange, thereby enhancing the overall academic environment.

This year, the MDS will take place on July 11, 2024 starting from 08:30 AM, at the Undergraduate Campus, Multi-Purpose Hall. The seminar will cover a range of themes and is expected to generate nationally relevant recommendations based on the scientific research papers presented. These discussions and reflections will be organized under various themes and sub-themes, ensuring a comprehensive exploration of different topics.

In addition to fostering academic discourse, the seminar will serve as a networking opportunity for researchers, educators and practitioners. This interaction is crucial for building professional relationships and collaborations that can drive future research and innovation and collaboration among the academia and practitioners.

The proceedings of the seminar, including the research papers, and proposed recommendations, will be compiled and published. These proceedings will be distributed to stakeholders.
